About the event

Embracing innovation for social and global good is one of the essential qualities of future leaders.  We are living in an extraordinary time of global disruptions and mindset shifts; the world is calling for more empathetic, sympathetic and responsible leaders who could create and bridge impact with legacy for generations to come.

Coinciding with the UAE’s 50th anniversary in 2021, Dubai will host the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, and safely welcome the world to a global event that not only excites and inspires, but also serves as a unique opportunity for humanity to come together in a spirit of optimism, hope and shared purpose.

Impact 17+1 club is pleased to welcome our keynote speaker Ms Nadimeh Mehra, Vice President, District 2020 – Transition Unit.

Nadimeh is responsible for the commercial development of the post-Expo site and supporting its transition into a mixed-use community and innovation-focused ecosystem; with the aim of supporting the creation of a sustainable legacy and long-term economic opportunities. Nadimeh’s topic covers: “Bridging Impact with Legacy.”

As part of the iTalk Special Edition - Impact 17+1 club is humbled to host Impact Leaders from the "Igniting Innovation for Impact Programme", a joint programme co-designed and delivered by Møller Institute, Churchill College in the University of Cambridge and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. Leaders on the programme come from diverse backgrounds and share a common goal towards Impact Leadership in the Era of Global Disruptions.

Impact Leaders from the Igniting Innovation for Impact programme will share 60 seconds of their impact stories during the ‘iTalk 60seconds’ session on:

· Embedding Impact Leadership into day-to-day leadership

Keynote Speaker: Nadimeh Mehra, Vice President, District 2020 – Transition Unit

Nadimeh Mehra joined Expo 2020 Dubai in early 2016 and is responsible for the commercial development of the post-Expo site – District 2020 - supporting its transition into a mixed-use community and innovation-focused ecosystem. In this role, she oversees Business Development, Sales and Partnership Management. This includes driving commercial strategy, business and financial planning, ecosystem development and global business engagement, with the aim of supporting the creation of a sustainable legacy and long-term economic opportunities. Prior to joining Expo 2020, Ms. Mehra headed the Development Capital division of UAE-based Daman Investments for 10 years where she had the responsibility of managing the identification, evaluation, marketing and management of selected investment opportunities from initial concept through investment or acquisition. Ms. Mehra has worked with UAE governmental institutions on foreign direct investments, entrepreneurship development as well as venture capital. Her experience extends beyond the UAE to North America, where she has worked in franchising and entrepreneurship.

Bo JI is currently the Assistant Dean of Global Executive Education & Chief Representative for Europe at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB). Bo had an over-20-year successful business career in Global Business Development, Innovation, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, M&A, etc. He served as the senior executive at the headquarters of many Fortune 500 companies such as Monsanto, Cargill, Pfizer, Wrigley and Mars. After a long corporate life, Bo became a serial entrepreneur and investor, he is also an inspiring TEDx speaker, a China expert and an advocate of EU-China trade. Combining his extensive business experiences and in-depth knowledge, Bo serves as a mentor & advisor to startups and scaleups at incubators, accelerators and co-working spaces around the world. Meanwhile, he is a well sought inspiring speaker at renowned international conferences, forums, TV media and annual corporate meetings.
